What's up, party people??? Sorry I haven't really posted since my 2011 in review post last week... I started the last full semester of my Senior year on Tuesday. It's crazy! I can tell it's going to be a great semester; I'm taking a class on Walden (yeah - only one book on the whole syllabus!), a class on Sci-Fi film, which has already proved to be incredibly interesting, and also WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE. Can't touch this.

I do also still have three jobs. Which are all wonderful. But still. It's crazy to know I'll always be going from one place to the next for pretty much the next 6 months or so. Then I graduate! Holla. I'm so excited. I love working, so thinking about being in a full-time job that I can make one of my very tip-tip priorities is going to be awesome. I can't imagine a life other than having multiple part-time jobs and a full load of classes at the same time - all the time. It's going to be a breeze! Working is definitely the thing I'm best at, and I know I'm working as hard as I possibly can in all three of my jobs now, as well as in school... but seriously, having one job only, and that's it? I will be able to work SO hard at one thing with no other distractions. Man. I need to stop talking about it, because I'm looking forward to it too much. I'm sure I will enjoy this semester a lot, but I want to make sure I don't rush through it since college is such a unique experience that won't happen in my life again.

2011 in review

After seeing posts like these all over the place (aka hey, Bonnie & others) I thought it would be a good idea to do one of my own! It was actually really fun to go through posts from the past year and pull some of my favorite outfits for this collage. So, yeah! These babies (above) are the kinds of things I wore in 2011. Deetz:

So, even though we're already 12 days into January/2012 (say WHAT?!), I would like to officially and publicly reflect on good ole blorange dice and just say thank you. Thanks to anyone who reads or has ever read my li'l blog here. It's such a wonderful creative outlet for me, and I just looove being part of this amazing community. AND LET ME JUST SAY: Having instagram has made all this business even BETTER. So if you have an iPhone and don't use the insta app, please change your mind. It is the best thing ever to get to see shots from the daily lives of gals/guys like Veronika, Stefanie, Lynnette, Brittany, Clio, Kenzie, Nicole, Anna, Taza, Natalie, and Francesca (I know that is quite a long list, but they're all so cool)... So just do it. Nike style.

But after glancing back up at them, the three star suppliers of my 2011 wardrobe are various thrift stores (obviously/duh), Urban Outfitters {{sale section}}, and grey dog - one of the best places ever to work.

I know I'm a little late on the Happy New Year post and all, but I feel that when it's this early in January, things are still so fresh. I feel like it's a new beginning. This year holds a lot of upcoming changes in my life; I'll be graduating from college, entering the work force, and gaining new family members (weddings, y'all) - just to name a few biggies. I'm excited about starting my career and am already getting a glimpse of life after college. I don't want to rush it, like I've said before, but it's definitely something to look forward to.

This dress has been the MVP of my Christmas break! I scored it for $20 on sale at Urban Outfitters, and it's just so versatile and comfy for winter dressing. I can't stop wearing it. P.S. Who knew Pacsun has some really cool stuff??? I went in to get a Christmas present for a girl I used to babysit for and came out with this super sweet fringe top and a new space/galaxy shirt, as well!!

So that pretty much sums up my winter shopping. In other news, I have recently decided to train for a half marathon. I'm so excited! I started my 8-week training program yesterday. It's going to take a lot of work and re-prioritizing in my schedule, but I feel confident that I can do it. It's actually a pretty reasonable training plan; there are three rest days each week, so I'll make those my busiest days, aka when I have most of my classes. Do any of you guys run? I've gone through running phases off and on in the past but never done anything like this. Wish me luck!

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve!! I've been in Dallas with my family for a few days now, and it's been so wonderful. I'm really diggin' having all this time off work and a lighter work load in general. I'm also especially enjoying my instagram feed since everyone's in the holiday spirit! For some reason, the title of this post is a random phrase (I guess I made it up at some point?) that pops into my head from time to time. Reason #3847807 why I think I might be able to be a good rapper. Or possibly that I should write children's books. Either one sounds good to me!

So, I'm wrapping up my finals on Thursday, and besides that, it's time for the holidays! Having Bonnie here to visit has been lovely, and then early next week I'll head home to Dallas to see my family and high school friends. SO HAPPY.

Oh, and isn't my new cuff from Jazzy-the-great so... great??? She's insane amazing.

P.S. These booties are the most expensive thing I've bought it probably four or five years. They were $75 at the Topshop opening in Chicago. Worth it.

Finally doing an outfit post! Props to Bonnie for her awesome camera skills/lenses/etc. I have been thrilled to the bone to jam to christmas tunes all day every day, pull out my favorite christmas clothes (including this saweet bolero), and do all kinds of christmas shopping! I don't have tons of money to blow, but I've been pretty lucky in finding some really great things for some really great people. This weekend has been an especially eventful, seasonal one - my oldest brother got engaged last night (my family's getting bigger by the second!), I've spent lots of time with my boyfriend's family and grandparents, and I have decided to splurge on a tight pair of sneaks for my upcoming rap video (I'll share it with you guys if it turns out the way I'm anticipating).

I finally got this disposable developed from my trip to visit Bonnie in Philly back in September! All of these photos are completely unedited, which is cool; the top two are my personal faves. What a great city, seriously. I'd love to spend more time there.

Anyway, just got finished baking FIVE DOZEN red velvet cupcakes. I love being in the kitchen. Plus, now it's all sparkly clean, and I have something to show for it! Can wait to frost 'em up in a the morning and snag a couple for breakfast on my way out the door (usually, I prefer cooking something of the egg variety, but I mean... it's the holidays). I am so excited about all the positive feedback about the blogger secret santa, and everyone has been all matched up! For all of you involved, by the way: I'm mailing out a Christmas CD I made for you guys, along with the recipe for the aforementioned cupcakes! So be on the lookout for that.

In other news: I officially have just two papers, three tests, and two other random assignments left until school is out for the semester! A month-long break sounds tooooo sweet right now.

I've had a really hard time lately trying to take outfit pictures during the daylight hours, which is why I haven't posted in over a week! These pictures from my phone should kind of catch you up on my non-school/non-work life (which is small but there). I've been trying to go to bed close to 11 this whole past week, and it's made my busyness much more bearable.

ALSO: found out today that I am *officially* graduating in the summer! I'll walk at the graduation ceremony in May and then finish up my last nine hours of credit in the summer. Crazy!!!! I'm excited to start the next chapter of my life, but I am trying to savor these last several months of college. It's been a grand ole time. Ok, enough ramblings from me! I love Fall so much. As excited as I am to wear tights, sweaters, and jeans regularly, I am also trying to savor the feeling of the cold air on my skin while it's bearable. I got this dress on sale at Urban when I was home in Dallas in early October, and it was like $7! Because it has holes and tears in it. But do I care? Nope. Thanks, Urban.

I've been having some minor health issues lately, and I would like them to please go away (nothing too serious; it's just annoying). I'm also dying for Christmas break... getting a month off school sounds amazing right about now.

I'm nearly laughing in some of these, because my boyfriend agreed to take one for the team in his first [successful] attempt at taking pictures of me for da blog. I got home from class a little early the other day, so I figured I might as well test out my point and shoot to see how it does. I do prefer DSLRs, but I don't have one of my own... and they're expensive. And I think it will be some time before I get one. So this will have to do! I'm actually pretty happy with the results; it's not the same, but it's justttt fine. What this camera is really good at, though, is taking detail shots on the macro setting (cue: caterpillar).

Anywayyy, Halloween is quickly approaching! I live with four girls, believe it or not, and we went shopping last night to prepare for the transformation of our house into a scare zone (?) for Saturday night. Should be exciting. We are also dressing up as SPICE GIRL ZOMBIES. I'll be Sporty Spice (obviously), and there's gonna be fake blood everywhere. That's wussup.

The weather is finally getting cold here now! I'm currently wearing thermals, an over-sized fleece (fondly known as the cardinal fleece), AND slipper booties (AND drinking hot coffee comfortably). No joke. I'm also going on a mini-weekend trip back home to Dallas today. I feel kind of overwhelmed with school and work and things, so being home with my family will be really nice/comforting/much needed.

SO. It's me. Wearing an animal print. Even with the exception of this sweater I found last winter, I'm usually not one for wearing animal prints - or at least I wasn't - until!.. I came across this beauty from the vintage store where I work. It's so lovely and soft and easy to wear! Now that the weather is fiiiinally starting to cool down, I'll be rockin' it with tights soon.

I also may or may not have recently acquired an alarming amount of other leopard-y things. I've made myself stop for now, but we'll see...

Anyway, it's our fall break for school, and I am really loving this whole no class thing (note the bags under my eyes; getting enough sleep was not really happening when I took these pictures). So I'm getting pretty pumped about finishing school soon and wondering what on earth will come next.

DIY tank

So this used to be a long-sleeved tee that I wore as a sleep shirt when the weather was cold, but one day over the summer I took out my scissors, and voilà! Tank top.

Fall is actually making its way into my life, and I am soooo excited. The leaves are starting to change, I carved a pumpkin last night, I have scented hand soap that smells like the holidays... everything is just making me so happy and calm! Hopefully I'll actually be able to start wearing sweaters/jeans/tights regularly soon.

Did you know that the outside of my house is made of tin? It is. This was my go-to summer outfit, by the way; it's appropriate for work, comfy, and I was able to go elsewhere at night without having to change! So nice. I think the hivenj necklace [and clip, as usual] ties everything together perfectly. This kind of print (super bright and bold) isn't something I think I would normally go for, but I don't know. I guess people change! I wear it all the time.

Confession: I've watched Bridesmaids three times in the last ten days... is that bad? I don't care. It's so funny. Anyway, I'm off to read some good ole Shakespeare. Besos!

This is the other set of outfit pictures that Bonnie and I took when I visited her in Philly. We had so much fun! As much as I miss her, I'm excited that I get to see her very soon and be able to celebrate her birthday together with all our friends! I've been looking at some new cake recipes... (pumpkin cake, anyone?)

I spent this past weekend in Dallas to visit my family and do a little shopping (shopping wasn't the reason I went there, but... it happened), and it was a really nice time. My boyfriend and I did actually get in a car accident, though. We are totally fine, but it was a little scary. We basically got rear ended in traffic pretty hard, which totaled his car but didn't injure either one of us at all! So we're lucky. Plus, the wreck wasn't our fault, so it'll be the other people's insurance that covers it. Don't know why I felt the need to explain that, but that's what happened!

About the outfit: I got this suuupa sweet slinky top at Kokoroko with Marie in Chicago. I've worn it so much since then! It's such a great piece to just throw on and feel comfortable.

I feel much better but slightly groggy, so... I believe it's time for coffee, breakfast, and a little thrifting! Then I'll come back home to do some cleaning and laundry, which will make me feel a lot more in control of my life. And I will not take off my pajama until I absolutely have to. I went to Chicago, filled up two disposables (of course), and these are some of the pictures I actually took with my dig.; notice my camera-in-the-mirror-Marie-style-technique. OH. And I just happened to make it to the grand opening of Topshop Chicago the morning I flew in! It wasn't planned at all, which made it eeeeven better.

Yes, I know, I doing one of those silly super couple type posts, but... 1) I like these pictures, 2) I really do love my boyfriend and am feeling nostalgic about our trip to Hilton Head, and 3) I really don't have much else to post picture-wise. I have been so busy with school and work (still rockin' three jobs), and my friends that do have nice cameras have also been busy, so it's just an unfortunate schedule issue. If anyone is reading this that lives nearby and has a sweet cam, let me knowww. I will buy you ice cream and smother you with hugs and gratitude!

Sup, dudes!

This is a little on the late side, but I was recently sooo lucky to be able to take part in Rhianne's genius idea, Photoswap 2011. Jazzy mentioned it on her blog once, and I knew I just had to be a sign up right away! I'm not very experienced with shooting in film, but I have become somewhat decent at destroying disposable cameras (see here and here), which has very pleasing results. Anyway, this post is to showcase Brittni's photography! We were randomly paired up, each took a roll of film, and mailed it to the other to get it developed. So exciting! I came across the most wonderful quote tonight - and then to find out that it came from an old issue of Spider-Man made it even more meaningful somehow. Just as a reminder that beauty really does comes from the most unexpected places (cheesy, but true). I've never read an actual comic book, but I have read a few amaaaazing graphic novels (Maus, Persepolis, and Incognegro were all good). As much as I've loved these graphic novels (especially Maus; it's incredible), I'm surprised I didn't try to read any comics before! So without further adieu...

Sup, party people!!

Remember the road trip I mentioned? Well, I have decided to schedule some posts while I'm away, and they are primarily going to be some of my recent {amateur, of course} photography. Today: a sneak peek of the disposable camera that I destroyed! I stuck it in the freezer for a few hours, scratched up the lens, and even colored on the lens with an olive green sharpie; I'm pretty pleased with the results.

I'm leaving Wednesday for a road trip with some wonnnderful friends, and I couldn't be more excited. I haven't had a break all summer, so I am going to soak it all in. We'll see the beach, too! So many of the pictures she takes of me I'm laughing in, cause she's just so cute and funny behind the camera. I love it. She has such a good time taking pictures and trying new techniques, angles, etc. She's really turning into quite the little artist! DUDE. That reminds me. So, first of all, I owe a big thanks to the peeps over at Misikko for trusting my opinion enough to let me review an awesome salon hair dryer! Cue quasi self-indulgent hair pictures. Obviously, I usually tend to let my hair air-dry cause I'm all about the natural curls/the minimal styling time, BUT this hair dryer really is salon quality - which changes everything. Seriously, I didn't even have to use a flat iron! (If you are interested in straighteners, though, Misikko's online store also sells a bunch of ceramic hair straighteners.) Curling irons, too! Pretty much, their products are great, and their website is chock full of good deals. So check it outtt. (:

In other news, I just got back from a minor league baseball game. Perfect way to spend a cool-ish summer night.

Stole this skirt for $12 a few weeks ago, and I just loooove it for summer. I've also been really into red, white & blue lately (I know, I know), but I just can't help it. This bag was actually a traveling purse one summer between me and my best friend in high school. We were both in and out of town a lot, so we would trade it back and forth and leave notes inside for each other. It always makes me think of her.

Oh! Also, I've been making jewelry!! It's so fun/addicting. I bought a bunch of vintage glass stones and beads that are so amazingly unique and also scored these fishing weights that I think look pretty cool as necklaces on chains. They are really heavy, though. Anyway! Enough about clothes and jewelry. It's almost my boyfriend's birthday and I'm anxiously awaiting him telling me what kind of cake/pie/dessert he wants. I want to try out some new recipes!!

Just kidding. I'm probably the least badass person I know. For example, right now I am listening to Simon & Garfunkel in a floral dress on quilted bed, eating a blueberry lemon cheesecake bar (THANK YOU, KARA FOR MOVING IN WITH GOODIES). I'm just not a badass. But that's ok. I can pretend. I can listen to crazier music and wear big boots and rock out and eat unusual flavors of ice cream sometimes.

P.S. Isn't Ally a great photog? I literally had over 100 pictures to choose from. Insani-t. We both know these turned out borderline teenage angsty/attitude/whatever, but we had so much fun messing around with her camera and the sunlight and the tiiiiight location. We're not posers; we're just players.

Turns out... my summer is a lot busier than I thought it was going to be. Yikes! Hiii!!!

I am seriously sorry for taking over a week-long break. Main reason: my external hard drive was acting funky, and my macbook completely ran out of memory space. So I literally could not create any new files on it - or upload even one single picture more. Crazy, I know. As of ten minutes ago, things are sort of fixed, but I still haven't been able to upload/edit any of the outfit pics I've taken with Ally. I'll get on that soon, though!

Recently, I:

- went home to Dallas to see my little brother graduate from high school (he's the last/youngest of all five kids)
- had my mind blown by a place called Torchy's Tacos, originally from Austin, TX
- worked my first three weeks of having two jobs at the same time; so far, so good
- got to see my bestbest friend from high school for the first time since Christmas!
- freaked out with joy yesterday when I found out that Thomas and his girlfriend (the new graduates) are coming to visit me!.. TOMORROW! (Dear Thomas, if you're reading this, WUSSUP/I LOVE YOU/C U IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS.)

I was wearing this on the day of my first final a couple weeks ago, which was also the day I had three papers due. Riduclous, man. I'm so glad that's all over! (Please excuse the bags under my eyes.) This outfit is a somewhat typical school outfit for me - if I even have typical outfits - just because it's something comfy to wear and walk around town in.

This weekend, I'm heading to Oklahoma City to visit my roommate's family and do a little shopping (although, it will really be Ally doing the shopping; I'm sort of broke). That's ok, though! I love helping other people shop. And I'll let myself spend up to $10. That's reasonable.

Anyway, this week has been my first week back at my summer job doing administrative work 20 hours a week. I'm still doing my other job on the research grant, too, but that one's something I mostly do from home. So I'm busy, but not too busy! My coworker, Josh, is also one of my pals, and I just love working with him. The other day it was raining like crazy with flash flooding and all, so he decided to hang his socks and shoes on the coat hanger in our office to dry. Made me laugh pretty hard. Definitely took a picture.

So... as you know, I'm in Dallas visiting my family. The other morning, my dad played golf with a few of his work buddies, and he asked me to come along. While I actually do know how to play (I was on my high school's girls team for four years), I decided to sit this one out and just drive the cart. I guess my dad just wanted to spend some extra time with me, so why not chauffeur him around?

About halfway through the course, I started noticing some gorrrrgeous flowers off the to the side (which some may call weeds, but I refuse), so I wandered off with my camera for a few minutes. Needless to say, it ended up being quite a productive morning! Took some pictures, ate like fifty icebreakers sours (those things are so addicting/delicious), listened to some good tunes, spent time with my dad, and did all of it outdoors! It was quite a nice time.

I think I've gotten better at editing, no? I really like the way these turned out.

It officially feels like summer, guys. Officially. Proof: I've had a more flexible schedule, spent loads of time with friends and the fam, and enjoyed a wide variety of iced/cold coffee drinks. Yusss. This is only the beginning, and so far, it's been great!

I've spent the last few days at home, visiting my family in Dallas. It's really nice to be here and enjoy my first full week of freedom from school! Plus, the weather isn't deadly hot just yet, so I'm happy as a clam. Highlights, so far, include:

- Watching movies with Trisha
- Riding on David's motorcycle haha (I used to feel really nervous on it, but now that I'm experienced - which is what happens after you've ridden to the coffeeshop four times - it's more comfortable and fun)
- Playing Mario Kart (on Nintendo 64, of course) with Thomas and his girlfriend and getting my parents to try it, too (:
- Making super tricked out grilled cheese and tomato basil soup with David; I seriously need to give you guys the recipe, cause it's a-mazing
- Grocery shopping for my Momma
- Drinking even more coffee than usual (we're a coffee family to the max)
- Breakfast with my Dad this morning

Et cetera!!!

Up next, I have some work to do for my job (yay for working from home), a wedding this weekend with allll seven family members planning to be present, and a few people/friends to meet up with that I haven't seen since Christmas break.

Helloooo!

I love this town. I actually live near the bottom of that hill/mount in the background. The lighting at this time of day is just so gorgeous all everywhere.

Anyway, if you follow me on twitter, you may have seen my celebration tweet last night, but I am officially done with all of my english classes for the semester! I turned in three papers yesterday, and there is just a huuuge weight lifted. Tomorrow, I have the incredible opportunity to attend a panel discussion and a direct address by the Dalai Lama, who is visiting our school. I'm really looking forward to it; it's seriously just a once in a lifetime opportunity. After that, I have one math exam on Thursday, and voilà! Finished.

This purse used to be my every day purse when I was younger (but now it's too small for all the time). I still love it, though. And I reeeally love this new bangle! It was a splurge/spontaneous purchase, but I feel like it's really classic but also unusual, which made it worth it. Plus, I simply do not own a single bangle that I like!

P.S. I own this shirt in three colors, and I think that it's more pink than other people do. I guess it does look kind of white in pictures.

This is my denim dress! I love that it's all one piece, so it's just a really easy thing to throw on and still feel put together. It also happens to make a lovely party dress. (:

Anyway, school's getting down the grind, which is kind of exciting! I have a lot of work to do, but it feels good knowing that this is the last of it (at least until next semester). I'm definitely getting ready for the break aspect of summer but not all the nasty heat... Oh well.

Hi hello! Just FYI, I do very much intend to post regularly the next few weeks. That being said, it's about to be finals time for me... and it's not just finals! It's my birthday, it's a million research papers, it's work, it's Bonnie's last month here... there's just a lot going on! So if I don't post every other day, I'm still planning to post at least 2-3 times a week. Hope that's all good in the hood with you!

Hi everyone! Somehow it's already almost Friday, and I haven't posted since Monday! Oops. /: So sorry. I'm really excited, though, because I'm taking a last minute mini-trip this weekend to go to the horse races and celebrate a friend's birthday. I don't think I can stress enough how much I love other peoples' birthdays. They are brilliant.

Besides that, I'm in the process working, writing, researching, and watching the rest of Black Swan - and I am determined to fulfill my weekend goals!!

Do you guys make weekend goals, or do you just have fun and not worry? I do a little bit of both, depending on how busy life is.

FYI, I am not planning on having children any time soon (although, when that day comes, I will be a very happy person); however, for some reason, I just keep on acquiring more and more maternity clothes! I can't explain it. Whether they are thrifted or from Target, maternity clothes just keep invading my closet. So it appears that I am starting a little, accidental collection - for my far away future as a mom. Needless to say, this is a newest maternity dress. Haha. I got it at a local thrift store last weekend. $4? Yes, please.

I also found these Dr. Martens! I remember when my older siblings and their friends had 'docks' back in the day (the shoe version, though; not the boot), and I thought they were soooo cool! All I need now is a fisherman's hat and a later bedtime.

I really don't know what to call this color, but I looove wearing it. I also realized recently that I have quite a bit of clothes around this shade... so why not wear them all together? And why not put a million clips in my hair? You're only young once.

Saturdays are the bomb diggity, and my morning has been delightful so far, what with sleeping in, eating some leftover mexican and a grapefruit, enjoying a few cups of coffee, and looking at recipes so I can decide what to make for dinner.

So... we may or may not have snuck into a courtyard at these really cool apartments near our house... and we may or may not have taken pictures there by all the pretty ivy... and while standing on top of a stone table. haha

By the way, I do believe this is the first bloggy picture Bonnie and I have ever taken together! I bet the next one will be when I go visit her in Philly over the summer - if we find someone else willing to stand behind the camera for a minute, that is.

Ok, and to explain the craziness below... I just really couldn't help but including it. This is the result of taking pictures of three people with one camera on a windy day and offering to hold or temporarily put on their outerwear. I somehow ended up with three jackets on (one anorak, one sweater, and one cardigan around my neck), and I didn't even really notice! Anyway, we thought it was funny, Bonnie took a picture, and with all the layers I thought I looked incredibly Japanese street style-esque. Right?

I guess this post is a little on the crazy side, but then again, so am I! I've now officially made it halfway through the week, and I don't have a terribly large amount of schoolwork left to do over the next couple of days. So happy! So nice. You know, I think I'm in a weird mood and also that maybe I shouldn't update the blog late at night in my bed. Oh well.

Weird things happened to me today. A girl in one of my afternoon classes brought a taser into our class!.. you wear it like brass knuckles, and it can tase people. It was so weird. I also brought a blue gatorade to campus today (which is a very unusual addition to my water bottle and possible last minute coffee), and... I really didn't like it! I mean, I like blue gatorade itself, but it made my mouth taste unfresh. And I couldn't brush my teeth till I got home at 4:30. Anyway, I don't know why I'm writing this all journal-style and complaining about my weirdo day. I will stop now.

I also... keep putting off showing you guys spring break pictures from Atlanta. It's just so hard to narrow them down! I'll do it soon, though.

Anyone else have a weird Monday? Maybe it's a full moon or something. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Who knows!

- Try out that strawberry rhubarb pie recipe that the boyfriend's grandma sent my way

- Write just like, you know, FIVE research papers in the next month. Blast...
- Learn how to make Irish soda bread. I had some at this awesome pub in Atlanta (Meehan's was the name), and I can't stop thinking about it!
- Somehow figure out how to balance enjoying the weather/school work/work work/sleep/catching up with friends/visiting the fam soon/seeing my old friends that live a million years away/everything else
- Run! I'm *supposed to be* training for a half marathon that's getting closer by the minute...
- Stop thinking about how much I'm going to miss Bonnie ):

Things I've done!:
- Sampled two really cool Coca-Cola products that I need to get some more of. One was lemony-delicious and called 'Kinley' from the UK (anyone tried it?), and the other was 'Lift,' a most delightful apple soda from Chile.
- Started writing a weekly posts for this super cool local lookbook, StyleBy.Me (Northwest Arkansas region). Be on the lookout for my Local Voices posts on their blog every Wednesday!
- Also started being a teen vogue fashion click blogger - so nice of them to accept me.
- Found a new house for my last year of college; it's a reeeally cool five-bedroom and is closer to campus. I will certainly miss my current home, though.
- Discovered some really awesome new blogs recently, such as:

Confession: I wore this sweater two days in a row this week... It's so comfy, though! And it was perfect for my mood. Just FYI.

Anyway, I know this is kind of random, but one thing that always makes me laugh is looking at the traffic sources on my blog, particularly under the 'search keywords' section. Do you other bloggers ever look at those? If not, you should. Several particularly funny ones showed up on mine this week, and I thought I'd share. Obviously, the most common search phrase is "blorange dice." Totally normal. The following, though, make no sense to me:

- a purse like the one in fine day
- kids mexican outfits for weddings
- moms wearing loafers

>>> and may I please point out that this last one has happened seven times! I am dumbfounded, but for any of you that happen to be searching for moms with loafers, I'm sorry that google brought you here. Haha

Remember that really amazing thrifting trip I keep referencing from a few weeks back? This lace slip was a magical acquisition from that day. It's rather large on me, though, which is why I crossed the straps - front and back. Otherwise, the neck fell in a really strange way! The man that owns the store tried to tell me it was too big for me, which was slightly awkward (it is technically lingerie, after all), but I assured him that I knew and still wanted it. Haha

And I promise I'll stop talking about it, but this weather has made me so confused... it's been freezing the last few days! I actually wore a coat.

A mere three days ago, I took this springtastic picture on a lovely, sunny day.

When suddenly...

Crazy, freezing weather attacked!!!

Warmth was of the uttermost importance when I chose this outfit - even if I did end up looking like a hooligan. Besides, I kinda like it. I feel like I should take advantage of dressing crazy while I'm still young and not completely living in the professional world yet. You know? That philosophy is also a plausible explanation for my monstrous hair, aka "the beast." I know I'll have to tame it eventually, but for now it will roam free! Haha.

As far as the weather, I suppose I won't have to deal with this crazy back and forth business for too much longer... I leave for Atlanta in less than 24 hours! The forecast there for all of my spring break is temperatures in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Perfect.

So, the wedding was lovely, my dress was comfy, and my boyfriend was just the cutest, being all cleaned up and wearing a cool tie. (Which reminds me: when I first showed him this dress, he decided to call it my 'cowboy' dress because of the rope detailing haha.) All in all, 'twas a pretty decent weekend for me! I love having something to dress up for, and weddings are really the only events at this point in my life that I have the chance to do it. Now I'm just trying to wrap up this week and prepare to leave for my spring break trip. I'm actually leaving Thursday morning super early, so I'm scrambling around trying to not get behind! I think I've been pretty productive with my free time so far.

In case you are wondering, I'm going to Atlanta. And I'm so excited about it!! I've never been to the so-called capital of the South, and there are a lot of really, really cool things to do there (not to mention the food). Namely, I'm looking forward to visiting the Georgia Aquarium, the High Museum of Art, and the CNN Studio Headquarters.

P.S. I'm obsessing over this. SUCH a good idea. I keep looking over the photos again and again.

These are just two of the many amazing items I found thrifting in Dallas on Saturday (the shirt and the skirt). I'm so happy! I wore them together that night haha. I also was able to spend some time with two kids that I used to babysit and have known forever, but now they're all old! Well, eleven and thirteen. That's pretty old, right? Anyway, it's been so cool watching them grow up; they're really just like my brother and sister, and I know I'll be close with them forever. The girl, who is eleven, went to dinner and a show with my parents and I, and she bought a bunch of bouncy balls from this pinball machine. Haha I thought it was pretty hilarious how many she ended up with, and they did happen to make rather good subjects for some photos!

I had such a great time being with the kids and my family, and the bachelorette party was super fun, too. My cousin's actual wedding is this coming weekend, and I already picked out what I'm going to wear! I don't usually pick out any clothes or outfits ahead of time (because you never know what you'll be in the mood for!), but since I recently acquired a beautiful, silky, vintage dress, I figure this will be the perfect opportunity for me to don it for the first time!

Had the most lovely weekend at home with my family!

Laughed at my Dad's office voicemail, which says, "We're unable to immediately answer the phone at the moment." Haha. The use of 'immediately' is just so funny to me.

Had a HEAVENLY experience thrifting yesterday. So many good spring finds!!

Ran into my English teach from Senior year last night, and he was genuinely happy to hear that I'm an English major now. So nice. He was so poetic, too! After we chatted a bit, he told me that "It's all about becoming..." Then he turned his back and walked away. Perfect.

This is the first time I have ever worn gloves without a coat! It was the perfect amount of warmth (but slightly inconvenient that I didn't have pockets to put my gloves in when I took them off). Oh well. This superchill - as usual - outfit is thanks to my lovely friend Shay, who gave me this vintage sweater as a gift a couple years ago after she customized it with the little, pink heart. Shaybeebaby, you rule. Bonniebaby, you also rule for takin' amazin' pictures. (:

just a twink of pink

As I've mentioned before, sixth and seventh grade were my "lost years." This means that: at the age of 11-12, I used to watch Legally Blonde every. single. night. I wore only pink clothes. I even dressed up as Elle Woods for career day! (There is a terrible picture documenting that outfit which included a chihuahua beanie baby and a feather pen.) I also repainted my nails - fingers and toes - everyevery weekend, without fail, in various shades of pink.

Needless to say, I got pinked out. Ever since then, I have been hesitant to wear the color, and I tend to go for more earthy tones anyway. In the last few years or so, though, it has been creeping back into my wardrobe, and I'm happy about it. I think it's especially fun to add one pink piece unexpectedly to random outfits.

P.S. On a similar note, I thought I would share another related embarrassing fact about myself. I found out in high school (long after those lost years), that back in sixth grade, I was known as "chapstick girl" among the girls that played on different teams in my softball league; this is because, regrettably, I used to carry lipsmackers on a key chain attached to my belt loop in the dugout. Then, when I went out to bat, I would reapply, clip the chapstick onto the fence and proceed to be the most stereotypical girly girl on the planet. Haha. My now best friend figured out that I was the chapstick girl and told me all about this when we connected the dots once a few years ago. So terrible.

Can you tell I'm experimenting with my make up? I am! I usually have the exact same routine every single day, but I tried doing no mascara on my top lashes, more/darker eyeliner, and purple lips.

The weekend in summary: ate a yummy Italian lunch with the bf's family, had tons of fun watching the Oscars with the girrrrls (Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansson donned my favorite looks), enjoyed a fine birthday partyy, and lived through last night's crazy storms!! Also, Bonnie and I got a package from Urban last week, which included my new twentyleven earrings... I've worn them almost every day so far haha.

Sunday was a few days ago, I do realize that, but it was a wonderful day (maybe I'm reminiscing about the weekend, because this has been a busy school week). I spent that final day of the weekend:

- Getting a yummy breakfast with my boyfriend, and the restaurant had FRANK'S (my only favorite hot sauce) for my hash browns
- Spending $27 at Walgreen's on mint green nail polish, purple eyeliner, q-tips, and dental floss; it still doesn't seem to add up to me
- Being locked out of my house for 45 minutes or so (my fault, but no big deal), so I sat on our porch steps and talked on the phone to maybe eight people and left several voicemails
- Lounging in my bedroom
- Going to the library with my buds, reading a bit of Goodbye, Columbus by Philip Roth, and surfing the web
- Rediscovering my xanga from 2005... oh my
- Loving nerds (the people and the candy)
- Watching last week's Gossip Girl
- Wearing yellow socks
- Listening to Chris Holmes over and over - if you've never heard him (or Ashtar Command... the OC, anyone?), check this out:

All in all, 'twas a very comfy day.

Check out my new boots!!! I've been waiting for them to ship over from the UK for what has seemed like foreverrr (but really it was only a couple weeks), and they just arrived yesterday! I'm so happy. Thanks a million to dear Missy from The Fashion Fusion for hosting the Daniel Footwear giveaway in January!! It was my first ever giveaway to win, and I only had to pay a tiny bit extra to get these boots with my £50 credit.

Yes, if you're wondering... they are technically men's boots. That's just how I roll since I wear size 11 in women's shoes - and the reason I have so many pairs of men's loafers.

Helloooo everyone! I know that first pic is kind of bright, but I like the colors. Anyway, I bought this bow necklace recently, and it's probably the best one I've ever seen! Such a bargain for $6. Everything else is thrifted (no surprise there), except for my faded BDG super stretch skinny jeans. I love them.

This week, we ended up having three days off of school in a row again! Verrry weird and very great. I've gone adventuring back and forth to friends' houses, slept in multiple times, eaten tons of food, spent one whole day in my pajamas, tromped around in the snow/sludge, and now... I am about to become a recluse in my bedroom - strictly in the company of my books - for the next 48 hours. Time to be a reading machine! Other thoughts: it doesn't feel like a Saturday at all, and it is quite warm outside today.

Also, this video makes me laugh (possibly a little too hard).

This white, fringe-y piece is usually only worn in warm weather, but I've missed wearing it! It's one of those things that just makes you happy every time you put it on.

By the way, we're supposed to get more snow today/tomorrow, so I am preparing for another uber-large sleepover... Crazy, eh? I gotta go get supplies so I can make a million grilled cheese sandwiches and a double recipe of tomato-basil soup for everyone! Even though work has been more stressful due to the weather lately, I have absolutely loved getting to spend extra time with my friends. (:

P.S. My belt has hearts on it.
